Identifying the
dorsal fin
- Uniform slate grey coloration
- Tall, very erect fin due to steep angle of the leading edge.
- Moderately rounded apex
- Nearly straight trailing edge.
- Short free rear tip.
STATUS AND RANGE
The Shortfin Mako Shark Isurus oxyrinchus is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ and in CITES Appendix II.
