Identifying the
pectoral fin
- Dorsal surface is slate grey in color with an obvious white margin running along the edge of the free rear tip.
- Ventral surface is uniform white with no obvious dark or dusky markings.
- Moderately rounded apex.
RANGE AND STATUS
The Shortfin Mako Shark Isurus oxyrinchus is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ and in CITES Appendix II.
